TOURSKazimierz Dolny
Mile invites you to take a trip to Kazimierz Dolny, called a Pearl of the Polish Renaissance. This charming town at the Vistula river is famous for its rich history, romantic scenery and wonderful historic monuments, it's a centre of meetings of artists, painters, poets and actors. A stroll around Kazimierz will begin with a market square, with its wells and richly decorated Przybylowskie tenements dating back to 1615 - Under St. Christopher and Under St. Nicolas. It is worth seeing a great organ in the cathedral, and then ruins of a castle from mid-16th century, destroyed during the Swedish invasion, and a nearby tower, from which we can admire a wonderful view on the town and the Vistula river. The agenda of the trip also includes a visit to the Parish Church. Next we will go for a walk along ravines to Albrechtowka, formerly known as the Stone Mountain - it is one of the most beautiful spots in the area. On its south-western slope the woods are thinning to form a flat clearing. And from there we can admire most beautiful view of the Vistula river, with its sandy banks, covered with greenery, sand patches and the Cow Island (Krowia Wyspa), where nature is protected with the rights of a reserve. At the foot of the mountain there is a tiny village of Mecmierz, which you will have an opportunity to see, as well. |
